Italics don't work

I really like this theme, but I've found a major bug: italics flat out don't show show up. If you look in the HTML you can see the parser put an <em> tag, but for whatever reason—I'm guessing some CSS somewhere—the browser just shows it as normal text. This isn't just on my generated site; if you look at the demo site, the "italics" section on the Markdown Syntax Guide page isn't italic.

If I remember to I'll see if I can identify the source later, but I figured I should file a bug here.
