Just a heads up that we kicked off a community voting process for your feature request. There are 20 days until the voting process ends. Find more details about Angular's feature request process in our documentation. |

Thank you for submitting your feature request! Looks like during the polling process it didn't collect a sufficient number of votes to move to the next stage. We want to keep Angular rich and ergonomic and at the same time be mindful about its scope and learning journey. If you think your request could live outside Angular's scope, we'd encourage you to collaborate with the community on publishing it as an open source package. You can find more details about the feature request process in our documentation. |

Hello, this is not on our roadmap, and we don't have any plans to implement hiding the month name from the days table. This is still open for discussion, and with a compeling reason or enough interest, this could become prioritized. I'm converting this issue to a discussion. |

Feature Description
Add a new option to not show the month name on the days table and a way to set that as default for all calendars. Currently the current month is displayed two time, on the month-year selection control, and on the table. It looks redundant and the material.io components show the Android example that doesn't show that month, for comparison:
Use Case
Avoid the duplicate month on the datepicker and save space
Note: This was noticed while implementing an adapter for js-joda, that probably will try to contribute if there is interest. Another thing I noticed is that on the adapter the getMonthNames() is only invoked with the 'short' parameter. It is planned for the future, or it is some legacy implementation detail?.
