Describe the feature you'd like
Additional research menu in tree view which can access via research (F2) menu. Just like research tree in betaguide.

Describe why do you think it is needed
Current research menu is not intuitive. I think a tree view would be better. It will be easier to find a path for a research item.

Even just showing what is unlocked by researching the item would be a huge progress!

Yes! For Multiplayer/Skirmish

Yes! For Campaign; on the condition that unresearched items are hidden, i.e. not greyed out, as showing or eluding to Nexus technologies in Alpha and Beta campaigns ruins the dynamics of the story.

This feature probably incur additional work for mods that diverge, partially or wholly, from either technology tree. That said, tree map could possibly could be generated from tech tree/research files rather than being explicitly coded 🤔

More I think on this one, I'm leaning toward this being a part of the Intelligence menu rather than Research 🤔
