I love this, I am the first to rate it on chrome extension store, I am not fan of the logo (icon) and I wish if it can have some sort of way to keep track of auto-toggling on a web domain (it is better to have it open the sidebar automatically but it is not a good thing to have to close it every time when you don't want it)

Other than that I think it is amazing and if it can be improved further that would be great.

Hey, and thank you very much for the feedback @neoOpus!

Could I clarify the issue(s) exactly:

  • You don't like the icon design itself, or
  • You don't like the auto-open behavior?

Or some combination of the above?

Regarding the auto-open behaviour, yes, it's a little hard to balance. The options we have right now are:

  1. Open the sidebar automatically each time there are any results at all (potentially a bit too annoying)
  2. Open the sidebar only when results matching the exact URL are found (a rough middle ground)
  3. Don't open the sidebar automatically at all

Is your suggestion for Crowdwise to learn over time which sites the user wants the sidebar to auto-open on?

Hey @neoOpus! Thanks for your feedback, do keep them coming :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, perhaps you would like the extension to be closed by default and then open only on a list of domains that you can specify?

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the delay and thank you for your answer.

Actually I found an extension that implant the sidebar feature pretty well (https://extensions.redeviation.com/) when the sidebar is on the right (where there is normally the scrollbar it shows when we move the mouse to touch the edge of the screen and we can toggle to make it visible via a customizable mouse event... my suggestion is the make something that is similar, that doesn't take screen real-estate, have a subtle animation that suggests to see what the crowd is talking about that can be easily toggled or dismissed... (of course some users can have it as it is right now), what I don't like about the icon is the overall design (I can suggest something if you are open to the idea) but its location and size for the moment is annoying, and the option to open the sidebar from the toolbar icon isn't really a good idea as it takes some space there (I can barely see the address bar myself right now) and you can easily forget about this extension... some websites also have their chat icon located there which can be confusing and annoying... The only problem with this suggestion is that it will compete with the Bookmark Sidebar extension on that part of the screen...

Other than that having the sidebar open but doesn't pin by default is better and having less icons on the top as they are redundant with what the toolbar icon has to offer... (maybe just quick toggles for some styling and readability features and keep the slack, config of the sidebar behavior and location etc to toolbar icon or a separate Settings page and if it can be just like (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/improve-youtube-video-you/bnomihfieiccainjcjblhegjgglakjdd/)

I hope this makes sense and thank you for this amazing extension.
