I also need this feature! I have a client that I had to downgrade to OpenVPN because it only has a dynamic IP link and sometimes the client's link drops and the connection is closed with the previous valid IP, causing problems with the tunnel. This feature would definitely help me a lot. |

Hello everybody, what I would like to request is that the TunnlTo interface add a "check gateway" option to each tunnel so that the connection only appears in green (connected) in cases where the tunnel has been closed and if traffic is received through the gateway, such as with an ICMP check. In cases where ping doesn't work, it should be orange, for example, and finally, in red for disabled, as it is today.
I ask this because I have users who are accessing our VPN on public networks and the location constantly has the Wireguard port blocked and the user receives the information that the tunnel is online and they cannot access our system and end up opening support tickets unnecessarily.
If you don't find a solution for this, you may have to go back to OpenVPN and its slower connection speed.
I would appreciate it if you could give me feedback on whether this would be possible for you or whether it would not be something the team is interested in implementing at the moment.
I saw that there is already a request to improve the System Try icons, but if you could also do it in the interface, that would be great.
I believe that the idea I gave above would be an interesting way for users, as it is necessary in the case of the OpenVPN icon that instead of orange is yellow, when it is trying to connect, but is not yet pinging the gateway.
