In one of the upcoming released it seems that it would be possible for an user to add fields from a table which aren't included on the page. This is already the case with the designer, but now also user could reveal these fields with personalization.
On Twitter there was a discussion on this where mostly the question was for internal fields that are default not on a page an thus not editable for an user, with the exceptions like configuration packages. A new rule would help identifying these fields an explicit require to set the editable property on the field on the table. When the user add this internal field on the page, with the property editable set to false, the field will be shown as read only.
