The localisation contribution link that links to Transifex (https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/raptoreum/) is no longer valid when entered into a browser. It redirects to Transifex's home page.

This link is present in:

The doc file on how to contribute to translations: doc/translation_process.md

UI source code file [src/qt/forms/optionsdialog.ui] (source of the screenshot) (https://github.com/Raptor3um/raptoreum/blob/42174d88fe18b7a11178ccb7f29baf2af5e08c14/src/qt/forms/optionsdialog.ui)

Locale files in src/qt/locale/

And various changelog files in doc/release-notes/dash/

Transifex no longer supports free projects, from the looks of it. That might be why we are no longer using it?
(edit: apparently they do, but their way of offering it changed dramatically... https://www.transifex.com/open-source/)

Here are some alternatives:

Weblate:

  • Runs / can run in a Docker container
  • Can be ran on one of our many VM's (like the Docs server)
  • Could be useful for translating docs pages as well
  • Free for self hosted
  • "Copyleft"
  • URL: weblate.org - Features

Tolgee:

Mojito:

  • Supposedly allows reusing existing custom translations
  • Not much info / no info page...
  • Simple documentation
  • No native docker container :( but maybe more lightweight
  • URL: Mogito.global

I personally like the features Tolgee could bring. We can test a variety of these on one of the VM servers if necessary.
