I tried

{{#network:|excludedNamespaces=2, 4, 8, 12, 14, 102}}
$wgPageNetworkExcludedNamespaces = [ 2, 4, 8, 12, 14, 102];
$wgPageNetworkExcludedNamespaces[] = NS_CATEGORY;

But no matter what I do the category namespace (14) still gets displayed in the network.

SW Version
MediaWiki 1.35.8
PHP 7.4.33 (fpm-fcgi)
MariaDB 10.3.38-MariaDB
Semantic MediaWiki 4.1.0 (78ba4cc)
Network 2.0.0 (4cd3f15)
