Hi everyone,
so we're getting super close to launching our first Alpha build for BWG. I wanted to make this blog post to explain how the alpha will work so that people don't get confused.
ALPHA IS PAID PATRON ONLY
So yeah, the alpha for BWG is going to be exclusive to our Patrons, we wanted to show our huge thanks to anyone who has financially supported and invested in the developers and we thought that this was the perfect way to do it. How is this going to work?
We'll be releasing Alpha builds to the paid patrons hopefully every couple of weeks until we feel ready for a public beta.
These alpha are NOT STABLE BUILDS and are purely for you to play test and give feedback on. We do not recommend starting your main world with these builds or putting it into a private modpack, etc. Furthermore, the distribution of any of the patron content will result in you being removed from the patron and your membership being canceled. We currently have 3 tier options for memberships, 1$, 5$, and 10$. For the time being, all 3 tiers will gain access to the Alpha builds however we will be adjusting the Patreon Tiers to be 3$, 5$, and 10$. 1$ after fees and taxes basically just doesn't give anything so we wanted to adjust this so that all of our developers can get a fairer payout from this. We will be sending out notifications to all of the 1$ Tier supporters so that they can choose to cancel their membership or continue supporting on the new 3$ Tier.
What about the Beta?
So, with Beta we will be doing a mix of Patron & Public releases, Patrons will gain access to the betas a week or two in advance then the public release of that beta will follow up until the final release which of course will be available for everyone via your typical platforms such as curseforge, modrinth, etc.
We understand that putting a paywall behind the Alpha will make it inaccessible to many folks and we hope that by allowing you all to gain access to the beta for free you won't be missing out on too much for long and hopefully by the time we reach beta there will be even more exciting content for you all to try out and it will be more mod pack and play-through friendly as well.
If you have any other questions regarding our Alpha or Beta for BWG please feel free to discuss them below!
