Here at Opentrons, we are very good at moving around a pipette to do labwork for scientists. But today, that pipette is confined to the small space within the three-axes of the OT-2's cartesian gantry. What if I want to automate pipetting somewhere else, somewhere not on the little deck of a boxy robot? Well, in that case, I'd need a different way of moving a pipette around in an automated fashion, wouldn't I?
This is why I think we need a flying quadcopter pipette. Strapping a camera to a quadcopter has changed the way we take video forever; I think strapping a pipette to a quadcopter might have the same effect on life-science! Or just be a crazy / fun project. Or the new form factor for the OT-3! Or not. You decide!
