Nether Portal Destination Linking Broken

Details

I was <able / not able> to reproduce my issue on a freshly setup and up-to-date server with the latest version of Multiverse plugins with no other plugins and with no kinds of other server or client mods.

Description
When entering the nether, a new portal is created everytime, even when going through a portal in the overworld with a pre-existing nether destination.

Steps to reproduce
Go through the portal.

Expected behavior
You arrive at the linked portal, not a new one 2 blocks away.
