Standard approach to plotting PDFs; ylim is fixed to allow comparability between different models/times. But for some variables fixing the ylim between 0 and 1 will make the plot unreadable (very small values).
Additionally some variables are much better displayed on a logarithmic scale (both x and y axis in some cases).
Describe the solution you'd like
Current RES implemetation has a lookup config for some variables with fixed spacing of the bins. Similar to the quicklook spatial plots, we could have a json dictionary which contains defaults for certain variables that the user can edit if they wish?
