Dat File Locations

I started adding a bunch of the "lockstyle" type gear, for example Jadeite https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Jadeite_Cuirie to my local server. They currently exist in item_basic, I added them to item_equipment and item_mods, the only missing piece I need is the MId for the item_equipment table.
Anyone have any suggestions on where they might be in the dats or an app I can use to dig through the dats and find them? Also - how do I tie that MId to the rom folder/dat when I find them?

The model id's have to be captured from retail, they aren't present in the DATs to link the models look to its usage in the client.

If you don't have access to retail (shame on you), but you know what the item in question is meant to look like, you can exhaustively go through !setplayermodel <model> <slot> until you find the right id

I do have retail, and I know what the item looks like. I assume I have the dat somewhere in the roms folder because I updated the server recently, I am just trying to figure out how...

1. if there is an app where i can dig through the roms folders that will show me even the 2d image of the model
2. say I find it in Rom5/22.dat how does that translate to the MId found on the item_equipment table

These are two of the tools we have to inspect the DATs, but I don't know if either can let you browse through the item icons.

As I said, the only way you can get the model id is by exhaustively searching for it with GM commands, or by observing someone wearing the item you're looking for on retail. There is no link between item_equipment and the DATs.

The client will receive the look information from the server and do some sort of internal lookup for which DAT will be holding the model, but it's not a thing that can inform you if you don't know the model id.

Trial/Error worked ironically enough! I thought I would need to go through thousands of items, but just sorted the equip table and started looking near the end. I only had to try like 10 ids before I found the sets I was looking for.
Thanks so much for the !setplayermodel command, that was exactly what I needed.
