While I was preparing the server, everything was done well, and I'm obviously a maniac about how some things look and I like to make them presentable and easy to find.

I have always used this program "Folder Painter v1.2" to change the icon of the folders, to know where to go and not to go around so much, but since it never gave me problems, I did not realize that it was causing damage to "xi_map. exe" causing it to close when starting it, after making the same mistake on my part, putting those folders with their icons, I decided to do what I do best, analyze and deduce errors, go step by step, and oh, I realized that not everything is convenient.

I just wanted to share this because someone else commits my stupidity and in future ask about that program.

Don't know what OS you are using, but Windows has allowed you to put a custom file on a folder in that folder's properties for a while now. Granted, some may not actually see them because of their folder view options (may be set to only show icons/never show files)

Just a thought... could be an alternative approach if you haven't tried it before.

Could make shortcuts and set any icon you want there. coudl even open the source and edit the icon there, and build and it'd use whatever icon.

just so many ways to set an icon. And editing is simple - any appropriately sized image can be imported in visual studio or saved as .ico by irfanview to use in windows.

I would never trust 3rd party software that edits a file/folder like this to be safe for modifying my folders or exe files but its not clear here - did you try to modify the folder or the exe file? Looking at that softwares website it looks like its just meant to change the color of a folder from the stock yellow, but I'm not installing it to find out.
