Xi_Map crashes when loading items

so i've been trying to make my own local private server to mess around with and whatnot, but when i click on xi-map it stops right at "Loading items" and closes. I don't know if i'm missing a step or what but if i am can i get some confirmation? cause i don't wanna download retails and fill up my drive when i can connect to a private server already with ashita and windower (unless they don't count when it comes to your own)
