Proposed solution:

  • pick a prominence term (see what's in Largo)
  • retrain site staff to use the relevant prominence term (1h doc)
  • add a thing to partials/home-post-list.php to output the most-recent post in that prominence term, probably using the relevant Largo function to get the homepage featured post (1h): largo_home_single_top()
  • make sure that that partial has the same styles as the current sticky post (1-2h)

@benlk looks like you picked a prominence (it's been checked off). Which one did you choose?

Nevermind! Just saw this note in HelpScout:
"Instead of using the sticky post setting, the post at the top of the homepage would be the most-recent post in the "Homepage Featured" prominence term, set via the editor."

That decision was pretty much made for us; I wanted to use whatever the existing Largo function uses, and largo_home_single_top() uses "Top Story" and "Homepage Featured".
