The wp.org plugin metadata in README.txt offers a Donate link: field.

Quoting https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-org/how-your-readme-txt-works/:

The Donate link makes a “Donate to this plugin” link in the sidebar. It’s entirely optional, and if there is no link, nothing shows up.

Questions:

  • should we set it?
  • what should we set it to?

https://inn.org/donate/ works, but doesn't have Labs-specific messaging. If we set that as the donate link, does it need a referer or URL parameter or other such item to indicate that the link is coming from the wp.org plugin repository metadata, from the Link Roundups listing?

@benlk Is this something we can leave blank for now and revisit once our NEON integration is complete?

Note that in https://github.com/INN/.github/blob/master/FUNDING.yml we set the donate link for most INN projects on GitHub to be inn.org/donate
