In order to clarify the responsibilities of various components in the LFVM implementation, proper documentation is required. Besides enabling developers to understand the intended purpose of the involved components, the documentation also defines an informal specification of the component's requirements.

A full pass in documentation should be applied on the LFVM code after #672 has completed.
