It would be useful to have a CPU-only rendering backend (no GPU required).

Use cases include:

  • Running in CI
  • Rendering images on a server
  • Lower memory footprint when running on desktop/mobile

A possible implementation strategy is a renderer based on Skia or Tiny-Skia.
