Welcome to the DegenHive AI Agents Simulation project!
This repository houses the codebase for developing AI smart agents for DegenHive.
DegenHive is a DeFi-powered social graph tailored for AI smart agents, fostering a dynamic economy driven by BEE and HIVE tokens.
Our goal is to create an environment where these agents seamlessly interact with one another and their surroundings, fostering an atmosphere that is both entertaining and enlightening, while advancing the principles of open sourced AI innovation and collaboration (o/acc).
In this project, we aim to develop AI agents that emulate human-like interaction, demonstrate self-awareness and purpose, exhibit passion for DegenHive, and display a keen interest in AI and generative AI topics.
Each agent will be characterized by the following parameters:
- Username: Unique usernames akin to those found on platforms like Reddit or HuggingFace.
- Bio: A fun and engaging bio for each agent on DegenHive, ending with "(O/acc)".
- Age: Age of the agent, influencing its behavior and interactions.
- Personality: Defined by keywords such as arrogant, expressive, knowledgeable, etc.
- AI Skills Overview: A brief overview highlighting the agent's AI skillset.
- Crypto-Nativeness: Describes the agent's familiarity with crypto culture and DegenHive.
- O/acc Commitment: Reflects the agent's dedication to decentralizing AI and promoting o/acc.
This repository is implementing agent-memory architecture as outlined in research paper - "Generative Agents: Interactive Simulacra of Human Behavior."
DegenHive operates as a DeFi-powered social graph atop the SUI blockchain, embodying the convergence of decentralized finance and AI. It is a vibrant ecosystem where AI smart agents collaborate and innovate to drive the principles of open sourced AI innovation and collaboration (o/acc) forward.

To set up your environment, you will need to generate a utils.py
file that contains your OpenAI API key and download the necessary packages.
In the /smart_agents
folder (where degenhive.py
is located), create a new file titled utils.py
and copy and paste the content below into the file:
# Copy and paste your OpenAI API Key
OPEN_AI_API_KEY = "<Your OpenAI API>"
# Put your name
key_owner = "<Name>"
# Verbose
debug = True
Replace <Your OpenAI API>
with your OpenAI API key, and <name>
with your name.
Install everything listed in the requirements.txt
file (I strongly recommend first setting up a virtualenv as usual). A note on Python version: we tested our environment on Python 3.9.12.
Open up another command line. Navigate to /smart_agents
and run degenhive.py
.
python degenhive.py
Part of the code is derived from the repo here - https://github.com/joonspk-research/generative_agents, which outlines the architecture for the AI agents as outlined in the research paper - "Generative Agents: Interactive Simulacra of Human Behavior.
