- Actualizar repositorios
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
- Instalar Postgresql en la version actual del repositorios
sudo apt-get install postgresql
- Recuerde configurar la autenticación de postgresql en el archivo pg_hba.conf
# Para Sistema Operativo Ubuntu 16.04 se instala la version postgresql 9-5
sudo nano /etc/postgresql/9.5/main/pg_hba.conf
# Para Sistema Operativo Ubuntu 18.04 se instala la version postgresql 10
sudo nano /etc/postgresql/10/main/pg_hba.conf
Esta configuración solo aplica en ambientes de desarrollo

- Reiniciar servicio
sudo service postgresql restart
- Agregar repositorios
sudo rpm -Uvh https://yum.postgresql.org/10/redhat/rhel-7-x86_64/pgdg-centos10-10-2.noarch.rpm
- Actualizar repositorios
sudo yum install epel-release -y
sudo yum update -y
- Instalar Postgresql 10 en Centos7
sudo yum install postgresql10-server postgresql10 -y
- Inicializar PGDATA
sudo /usr/pgsql-10/bin/postgresql-10-setup initdb
- Iniciar el servidor PostgreSQL y permitir que se inicie al momento de arranque
systemctl start postgresql-10.service
systemctl enable postgresql-10.service
- Verificar version
sudo su - postgres -c "psql"
# psql (10.0)
# Type "help" for help.
# postgres=#
