We’re trying out GitHub's "Discussions" feature on this repository as a way to provide a place where we can collaboratively develop new ideas for Cantera in a format that is a bit more free-form than an Enhancement Issue in this repository.

I expect there is some learning to be done about how to best use this repository, but for now, don't worry too much about what the best place to start a particular topic is. We can convert existing Enhancement Issues into discussions here if they would benefit from this format, and if a discussion here leads to a more concrete idea for implementation or turns into a work in progress, that can be summarized in a new Issue, linked to the discussion here.

This feature is not meant to replace other Cantera communication channels. Namely, reports of bugs in Cantera should be reported as issues in the main Cantera repository, and general questions should be directed to the Cantera Users' Group.

Please feel free to start a new topic, or contribute to an existing one. And remember to keep Cantera's Code of Conduct in mind when posting, to make sure that we maintain an open and welcoming environment for everyone.
