I have a fresh installation of CheriBSD, I chose the UK keyboard layout during installation, installed a CheriBSD desktop environment and created a non-root user. When was trying to login to the desktop environment for the first time, I was getting a wrong username/password error. It turned out that it was using US keyboard layout and that caused a password mismatch. I was able to successfully login to ttyv0, as it respects UK layout.
This might be a FreeBSD issue rather that CheriBSD-specific. However, it was took me some time to figure out what was going on, so maybe it is worth mentioning in the installation guide, in case it turns out to be a known FreeBSD issue.
