Stable diffusion automatic 1111 free to use?

Please help. I recently started using stable diffusion automatic 1111. After I generated a couple of images it stoped working properly. Is there a day limit and how can I purchase a plan for more?

If you're using a local install there are no limits just try restarting it, if it is not locally installed I have no clue. What SD Checkpoint are you using?

I'm not very aware what I'm doing to be honest. These are my first steps using it. I want to turn a basic architectural sketch/drawing into a photorealistic visualization.
What I did was install sd.webui on my PC. Then I use run.bat which opens a browser with SD. I downloaded some models from civit.ai (.safetensors) and some controlnet models (.pth). It started promising until at some point no output images were generated at all (blank/all grey/error).

If you didn't run update.bat first, then you're using a really old version. You can do that now.

I downloaded some models from civit.ai

Civitai hosts all kinds of models. Make sure you're downloading stable diffusion checkpoints, as other kinds may not work. To only show relevant files, click "Filters" in the upper-right corner.

and some controlnet models

You'll need to install controlnet to use those. You can do so from the Extensions > Available tab.

Stable diffusion models go in webui/models/Stable-diffusion; controlnet models go in webui/models/ControlNet.
