Extremely Slow Sdxl Loading Times Workaround - A1111

I just want to start this by saying i'm by no means a programmer, i'm just a regular user and found this workaround that worked for me and i hope it works for other people that are having similar issues.

I've been having extremely slow loading times when using sdxl models in a relatively decent pc (3060, 16gb ram, i7, ssd) for qutie some time.. Whenever i load the environment, loads with sdxl are extremely slow, so i started switching to sd1.5. All my models are safetensors and whenever i switch to sdxl, the switch is in the range of 300s to 400s, fully using my ram and even spilling into virtual memory. I've saw in this thread: #12086, that using ckpts could help with load times and ram issues.

Well, it works, but only in a very specific way, by switching from sd1.5 to sdxl, and if i want to switch to another sdxl, i switch to a sd1.5 first, then to the desired sdxl. It completely negates the ram issue and reduces loading times drastically. If i change from sdxl to sdxl however, the loading times are the same long ones with virtual memory usage. I don't know why it works, it just... does?

This is me switching back and forth from sdxl to sd1.5 to sdxl, and then a sdxl to sdxl to sdxl switch, then back to sdxl to sd1.5 to sdxl.

You need more RAM. I have the same PC, i7 16gb ram, some cheap ssd, gtx4xxx, same issue, I upgraded my RAM to 32gb, loading time is down to 30 sec.

No, i don't. As i've demonstrated in my post and images, i don't have that issue anymore.
