cmi5 Course Sequencing

The group discussed the possible course sequencing features for cmi5 either as a best practice or future spec change. Many in the group were open to developing a best practice to meet the need.

There was considerable discussion about the merits of whether any sequencing should be added:

• Course Structure’s primary job is to transport/import a collection of AU’s
• Course Sequencing – normally features of an LMS

Possible Course Sequencing Features:

• Add a "Dependency" property to AU metadata for enforcing launch sequence. Dependency = Prerequisite (List of AU / Blocks)
• Add a "Equivalency" property to AU metadata for collateral credit scenarios like "testing out". Equivalency = (List of AU / Blocks)

The group agreed to table the discussion until more could be learned about the request from the US Army customers (which prompted the discussion last week)
