Group Actor Support for cmi5 - Use Case Scenarios
The group continued its discussion on group actor support for cmi5. The following use cases were discussed.
Use Case #1 – Display AU for Learners Classroom Setting (Attendance only)
Scenario: Learners taking a course (together in a classroom). An instructor (PMA) launches an AU from the LMS to show the class a learning presentation. After the AU is completed, all of the learners present are recorded as completing the AU.
- Learners are enrolled in the course (Outside the scope – LMS specific)
- Instructor takes learner attendance for the class (Outside the scope – LMS specific)
- Membership for the Group Actor is determined
- Instructor launches the AU to experience it with the class
- Cmi5 launch mechanism with a Group Actor
- Learners “show up and watch”
- The AU records data for Group Actor (complete, etc.)
Use Case #2 – Display AU for Learners Classroom Setting (with Individual Learner actions)
Scenario: Learners taking a course (together in a classroom). An instructor launches an AU from the LMS to show the class a learning presentation. Same as #1 except that individual learner actions in a class can be recorded as cmi5 (allowed) statements.
Use Case #3 – Display AU for Learners Classroom Setting (with different Roles for each Learner)
Scenario: Learners taking a course (together in a classroom). An instructor (PMA) launches an AU from the LMS. Learners collaborate in a group activity where each have a different role to perform.
- Learners Perform their individual roles – Learner specific actions are recorded by cmi5 allowed statements (actor is agent)
- Assessment of individual members is done (outside of scope of cmi5) based on these (allowed) statements.
- Individual assessment could be performed by AU, LMS, LRS or some other combination (outside of scope of cmi5)
- The AU records data for Group Actor (complete, etc.) – with cmi5 defined statements for group
Things to define:
- Group Actor Properties
